"I bought this thing when it was on sale, and man was it a good choice. It's slightly heavy, but that's not a reason to be turned away. It really turned heads at my local field, and performs much better than I thought it would for the price.

PROS:
Stylish
Rather accurate
Comfortable grip
Seems to be very well built
Kinda loud but not enough to detract

CONS:
The screw to the battery compartment is easily lost since it's tiny and has to be removed fully to access the compartment. It'd be a good idea to track down more screws if possible and pick them up, since they like disappearing.
The manual isn't the most detailed.
It's not 100% accurate to the actual model, but that can be overlooked

Judgement:
One should pick this up if they want to get a chicago typewriter. It's stylish and works well, and for the price, the wood furniture definitely makes it worth it.

"If you go back to the comments section, you will find a link to a short video I made about this CYMA Thompson.

Like you, I was wondering about the very low price for a replica of metal with wood furniture, especially since there are more expensive versions of the Thompson with plastic stocks and grips. But I caved and decided to go for it.

And I'm happy I did. The gun is solid, and about 6 lbs. It doesn't in any way feel or look cheap. No wiggling of the stock or handgrip. I shot 20 or 25 .20 BBs through my chronograph, and it consistently registered between 367 and 380 fps. Especially tight groupings, too. The 8.4 battery gives it an impressive rate of fire--around 640 or 560.

In sum, Evike's description of the gun is accurate. Oddly, there were some minute differences of detail between the stock of the gun itself and the pictures of it on the box and in the manual (which you can see in my video), but they are inconsequential.

So, if you like gangster Thompsons, go for it.

"i have this thompson typewriter from evike, which i bought a year ago, its a great gun and very playable, but then again, how much time will stock internals last? and i havent really found v6 gearbox replacements too often, if it were made a little longer, it couldve definitely fit a v3 gearbox, for a little bit of loss to historical accuracy, but it could have had potential to be a beast, it still shoots great for me, but the only thing i could really upgrade in it was the bucking and the barrel.

PRO's
-absolutely badass
-very potent in CQB
-tactile feel
-has extremely similar center of mass to real typewriter, is a little lighter overall though
-when cycling, it doesnt have too much of that very prominent mechanical wheeze which other stock aeg's have, also meaning that the motor is pretty good stock.

CON's
-rare replacement parts (not even gonna talk about upgrades) only ones you would really get are bucking and barrel
-very long and relatively heavy trigger pull, comparable to the aap-01
-only hits 380 fps with .20, probably like 300 with .32
for some reason the gears in the gearbox and other parts that are supposed to be oiled, eat it faster than any of my other stock aeg's

WARNING: this review MAY be a hit or miss review, since i have owned mine for a year, and there might be some fluctuation in quality of production product to product, do some research yourself too!
